Incident Command System (ICS) Training

Fire and police incident command vehicles

Incident Command System training is required for University personnel with emergency response duties per the California Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS). Training requirements vary based on an individual's role, but in general, IS-100 and IS-700 are required for all emergency response personnel. For more specific guidance, please contact the Emergency Management staff at 459-3828 or oes@ucsc.edu.

Classroom ICS Training on Campus

Currently, ICS 300 (Intermediate ICS) and ICS 400 (Advanced ICS) are not available online and can only be taught in a traditional classroom setting. Beginning in January 2013, Emergency Management staff will be able to conduct this training, as well as traditional classroom offerings of the 100, 200, 700 and 800 courses. We will be developing a schedule for these offerings and more information will be posted when it becomes available.
