CruzAlert Sign-Up Information and Links for Faculty/Staff

Faculty/staff e-mail addresses and campus phone numbers (if present in the campus directory) are automatically loaded into the CruzAlert system. Faculty and staff can also optionally provide additional contact information including cell phones, home phone numbers and other alternate contact information. Please note that this information will not automatically be used for all CruzAlert messages: campus public safety personnel determine the best contact methods to use based on the nature of the incident, the time of day and the status of the campus. Typically, cell phones (text messaging and voice calls) are the quickest method to get information out during an emergency, but other means will also be used as appropriate.

Please note: You will need an on-campus wired connection or campus vpn with your CruzID and Gold Password to login to the system - wireless connection will not work. If you haven't set your CruzID Gold password yet or are unsure if you have one, please visit: and sign in with your CruzID and Blue (email) password and follow the instructions. If you have forgotten your CruzID Gold password and have set your security questions, you can automatically reset your password at If you need password help or have questions, please submit an IT Request ticket at or contact the ITS Support Center by email, telephone 459-HELP(4357), or in-person Kerr Hall Room 54.

To add or update your contact information, please take the following steps:

  1. Go to
  2. Log in to CruzAlert with your CruzID and Gold Password.
  3. Update your contact information.
  4. There are fields for your cell phone, office phone, home phone, TTY, and other phone. There is also a field for an additional email address (may be used if CruzMail is out of service).
